The decision of the supreme court to reverse Roe v. Wade on Friday was the biggest setback for women and birthing people’s bodily autonomy rights in our lifetime.
As a sexual wellness brand that primarily serves women and people with uteruses, we believe that the definition of sexual wellness must include reproductive justice and that we must use our voice and resources to work collectively against these oppressive legislative measures.
Here is what we’re doing:
All day every day, we support non-profits across the country working for social, reproductive, environmental, and racial justice through our partnership with Beam. Because of the urgency of the recently overturned Roe v. Wade ruling, we’ve spent the last few days working to find the right organizations to support the communities most impacted by this ruling.
At checkout on our website, you will now see the National Network for Abortion Funds (NNAF) as an option. We selected this organization because we believe the urgent, necessary action is to protect those in states where trigger laws went into effect. You can choose this organization and we will donate 1% of your purchase to this incredible organization.
The NNAF is a network of over 80 organizations across the country working to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access, including paying for abortion costs and travel expenses.
We have also been working on modifying our internal policies to provide more support to our team members during menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, abortion, pregnancy loss, and/or breastfeeding. We believe incorporating these supportive measures for our team supports their long-term mental, emotional, and physical well-being—which is something we hope becomes the standard among all businesses.
Most of all, we will continue to champion women’s sexual pleasure and will not allow our brand or our community to be shamed for doing what makes them feel good.
